Bill Title: Amends the Reproductive Health Act. AN ACT concerning human rights.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Reproductive Health Act is amended by
adding Section 1-23 as follows:
(775 ILCS 55/1-23 new)
Sec. 1-23. Information required prior to performance of
abortion. Before an abortion may be performed by a health care
professional, the health care professional must provide the
patient with the following information developed by the
Department:
(1) Geographically available public and private
agencies, including adoption agencies, and services that
are available to provide information on family planning,
including natural family planning information, available
to provide ultrasound imaging services. This information
must include a comprehensive list of the agencies
available, a description of the services offered, and a
description of the manner in which to be contacted,
including telephone numbers and addresses.
(2) The availability of governmentally funded programs
that serve pregnant patients and children. Services
identified for the pregnant person must include medical
