HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Mark Donovan on the
4occasion of his retirement as Vice-Chancellor for
5Administrative Services for the University of Illinois at
6Chicago (UIC) on March 31, 2017; and
7 WHEREAS, Mark Donovan has served with UIC for over 32
8years; he also served UIC as Executive Director for Facilities
9Management and Capital Programs, as Vice-Chancellor for
10Facilities Management/Director of Operations and Maintenance,
11and as Director of Building Operations; and
12 WHEREAS, Mark Donovan is a Commissioner for the Illinois
13Student Assistance Commission; he is a member of several
14professional organizations, including the Association of
15Physical Plant Administrators at Universities and Colleges and
16the Building Owners and Managers Association; and
17 WHEREAS, Before he joined UIC, Mark Donovan served as
18manager of Chicago O'Hare Airport for the City of Chicago
19Department of Aviation, and as manager of Building Operations
20and Services for the City of Chicago Public Works; and
21 WHEREAS, Mark Donovan holds a master's degree in public

1administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a
2bachelor's degree in political science from John Carroll
3University; he resides in Chicago; therefore, be it
4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
6congratulate Mark Donovan on his retirement as Vice-Chancellor
7for Administrative Services for the University of Illinois at
8Chicago, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors;
9and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Mark Donovan as an expression of our esteem and
12respect.
