2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Captain John | ||||||
4 | Farrell on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago | ||||||
5 | Police Department and recognize his many years of faithful | ||||||
6 | service to the citizens of this State; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, John Farrell is the son of Lt. Bernard Farrell and | ||||||
8 | Mary Farrell; he has 2 daughters, Jennifer and Julie, and one | ||||||
9 | grandson, Sean Farrell Ryan; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, John Farrell began his career with the Chicago | ||||||
11 | Police Department on September 11, 1967, serving with pride and | ||||||
12 | distinction for 41 years until his retirement on April 25, | ||||||
13 | 2009; he was the recipient of countless commendations during | ||||||
14 | his tenure; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, During his long and distinguished career, John | ||||||
16 | Farrell served in Units 002, 008, 011, 020, 610, 640, and 650, | ||||||
17 | as well as A/6 Burglary, the Central Intelligence Unit, and | ||||||
18 | Guns West; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, John Farrell will celebrate his retirement with a | ||||||
20 | party in his honor on June 19, 2009; and

1 | WHEREAS, John Farrell has served as a model of hard work, | ||||||
2 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
3 | Illinois; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
5 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
6 | congratulate Captain John Farrell on the occasion of his | ||||||
7 | retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement | ||||||
8 | years; and be it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to John Farrell as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
11 | respect.
