| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Kathy Blair for being | ||||||
| 4 | named the 2024 Gurnee Days Honoree; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair has been a resident of Gurnee since | ||||||
| 6 | 1988 when she and her late husband, Troy, bought their first | ||||||
| 7 | home in the village; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair dedicated her time to raising her two | ||||||
| 9 | children, Kevin and Cassidy, as well as volunteering at and | ||||||
| 10 | attending the Village Church of Gurnee; she assisted in | ||||||
| 11 | classrooms at schools in the Woodland School District, | ||||||
| 12 | completed her education degree, and then taught at Woodland | ||||||
| 13 | Middle School for many years; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair and her husband, Troy, were inspired | ||||||
| 15 | by a business model and culture that aligned with their | ||||||
| 16 | family's goals and beliefs and opened their own Nothing Bundt | ||||||
| 17 | Cakes store in 2018; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair's passion for service and her | ||||||
| 19 | community led her to partner with over 40 non-profit | ||||||
| 20 | organizations, including the Gurnee Women's Business | ||||||
| 21 | Association, the Gurnee Exchange Club, and other local groups; | ||||||

| 2 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair remained determined to continue | ||||||
| 3 | giving back to the Gurnee community after the loss of her | ||||||
| 4 | husband, Troy, in March of 2024 to honor the resilience, | ||||||
| 5 | support, and stability he provided her; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Kathy Blair exemplifies the selfless service to | ||||||
| 7 | the community that the Village of Gurnee and the Gurnee Park | ||||||
| 8 | District celebrate at the Honoree Reception; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 10 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | we congratulate Kathy Blair for being named the 2024 Gurnee | ||||||
