| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, On Friday, March 2, an unthinkable tragedy | ||||||
| 3 | occurred on the campus of Central Michigan University; during | ||||||
| 4 | the incident, the village of Bellwood and the 7th District lost | ||||||
| 5 | one of its finest, Officer James E. Davis Sr., and his wife | ||||||
| 6 | Diva (Dye-Vah) Davis; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Officer Davis, who served as a part-time police | ||||||
| 8 | officer in Bellwood for over 20 years, was also a police | ||||||
| 9 | officer with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; | ||||||
| 10 | additionally, Officer Davis was an Army veteran who did a tour | ||||||
| 11 | of duty in Iraq in 2003 and served in the Illinois National | ||||||
| 12 | Guard for 24 years before his retirement in 2014; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Diva Davis was a devoted wife, mother, real estate | ||||||
| 14 | broker, and American Airlines Flight Attendant who was loved | ||||||
| 15 | and respected by everyone who knew her; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 18 | keep the Davis family in our hearts and prayers and join | ||||||
| 19 | together in a moment of silence in memory of Officer James E. | ||||||
| 20 | Davis Sr. and Diva Davis.
