| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate our colleague, | ||||||
| 4 | Representative Mark Luft, on his distinguished service to the | ||||||
| 5 | people of the 91st district; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Representative Luft joined the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 7 | Representatives on January 13, 2021 after a long and ongoing | ||||||
| 8 | career of service to the people of his community; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Representative Luft served our nation for seven | ||||||
| 10 | years in the United States Army Reserves; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Representative Luft has devoted his life to | ||||||
| 12 | public service, whether it was running the Pekin Junior | ||||||
| 13 | Football League, serving on the city council, or serving now | ||||||
| 14 | as mayor; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Representative Luft was a tireless advocate for | ||||||
| 16 | children with disabilities and for veterans during his time in | ||||||
| 17 | the General Assembly, passing important legislation to ensure | ||||||
| 18 | that the State's veterans assistance programs were doing their | ||||||
| 19 | utmost to fulfill the promises made to our veterans; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, After returning home from Springfield, | ||||||

| 1 | Representative Luft will continue in his capacity as the mayor | ||||||
| 2 | of his lifelong hometown of Pekin; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Representative Luft has fought for fiscal | ||||||
| 4 | responsibility, ethics reform, support for law enforcement, | ||||||
| 5 | and improvements in the quality of life for all Illinoisans; | ||||||
| 6 | therefore, be it

| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 8 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we wish to thank Representative Mark Luft for his service to | ||||||
| 10 | the people of his district and all of Illinois, and we extend | ||||||
| 11 | to him, his wife, Lelonie, and their five children all of our | ||||||
| 12 | best wishes for happiness and success in the years to come; and | ||||||
| 13 | be it further
