Bill Title: Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a county with a population of less than 3,000,000 does not have to comply with the changes made by Public Act 100-1 (the Bail Reform Act of 2017) and the pretrial release provisions of Public Acts 101-652 and 102-28 if the county board adopts a resolution for that purpose on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

725 ILCS 5/110-19 new
Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. AN ACT concerning criminal law.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
amended by adding Section 110-19 as follows:
(725 ILCS 5/110-19 new)
Sec. 110-19. Bail reform opt out. Notwithstanding any
other provision of law to the contrary, a county with a
population of less than 3,000,000 does not have to comply with
the changes made by Public Act 100-1 and the changes made to
Article 110 of this Code by Public Acts 101-652 and 102-28 if
the county board adopts a resolution for that purpose on or
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd
General Assembly.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
