2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Georgia Grace Saffo; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was born to Leonard and Annie Laura | ||||||
5 | Graham Zackery in Covington, Georgia on November 26, 1930; she | ||||||
6 | married Walter J. Saffo in the early 1950s; she joined St. Paul | ||||||
7 | AME Church at an early age and served there until she moved to | ||||||
8 | Cleveland, Ohio in 1960; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo worked as a dental technician and | ||||||
10 | HeadStart preschool educator after college in the 1980s; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo enjoyed cooking, listening to jazz | ||||||
12 | music, and spending time with her family; her legacy of faith | ||||||
13 | and service continues to inspire her loved ones; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was preceded in death by her | ||||||
15 | parents and her husband, Walter; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was mother to seven children; | ||||||
17 | grandmother to 15 grandchildren; great-grandmother to 24 | ||||||
18 | great-grandchildren; great-great-grandmother to four | ||||||
19 | great-great grandchildren; and sister to three siblings; | ||||||
