| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Cristian Medrano, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | April 12, 2024; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano was born to Clarissa Dieppa and | ||||||
| 6 | Sergio Medrano in Aurora on July 12, 1996; he graduated from | ||||||
| 7 | Waubonsie Valley High School in 2014; he received his | ||||||
| 8 | bachelor's degree from Aurora University; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano joined the Aurora Fire | ||||||
| 10 | Department in March 2024 and was assigned to Station 1, | ||||||
| 11 | realizing his lifelong aspiration of serving as a firefighter; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano was very interested in the | ||||||
| 14 | culinary arts, particularly cooking and baking, earning him | ||||||
| 15 | the proud title of being a "foodie"; he delighted in exploring | ||||||
| 16 | eateries and coffee shops; he enjoyed golfing, playing board | ||||||
| 17 | games, especially Monopoly, and traveling with his family, | ||||||
| 18 | with especially favorite memories of trips to Colombia and | ||||||
| 19 | Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano loved spending time with his | ||||||
| 21 | family above all else; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Cristian Medrano is survived by his parents; his | ||||||
| 2 | sister, Alexis (Joshua) Vargas; his brother, Mykol (Selena) | ||||||
| 3 | Dieppa; his longtime girlfriend, Savanah Zbinden; his nephew | ||||||
| 4 | and godson, Thiago Vargas; his maternal grandparents, Rita | ||||||
| 5 | Ramos and Alfonso (Socorro) Dieppa; his longtime best friends, | ||||||
| 6 | Erick Cepeda and Michelle Yague; and several aunts, uncles, | ||||||
| 7 | cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Cristian Medrano and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
