1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Harold Roger Neiman, Jr., who passed away | ||||||
4 | on December 22, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was born on April 26, 1951; his | ||||||
6 | parents were Harold and Pauline Neiman; he married Fabienne | ||||||
7 | Williams in 1995; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was a lifelong resident of | ||||||
9 | Chicago; he attended Charles R. Drew Elementary School and | ||||||
10 | Frank L. Gillespie Upper Grade Center and before graduating | ||||||
11 | from Harlan High School, where he excelled in baseball and | ||||||
12 | swimming; he also played 16-inch softball with the Zodiacs | ||||||
13 | during the summers; and

14 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was employed with the Chicago | ||||||
15 | Public School system for over 20 years; he was also a licensed | ||||||
16 | stationary engineer; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, In 1994, Harold Neiman, Jr. and his then-fiancee | ||||||
18 | joined the Faith Community of St. Sabina; together, they served | ||||||
19 | in the New Members/New Believers ministry, the Ministry of | ||||||
20 | Care, the Diaconate, and the Lectors/Commentators Ministry and | ||||||
21 | taught classes on HIV/AIDS prevention; in 2002, he and his wife |

1 | entered the Diaconate Formation Program of the Archdiocese of | ||||||
2 | Chicago; in 2006, he was ordained as a deacon and began serving | ||||||
3 | the Faith Community of St. Sabina, where he worked until his | ||||||
4 | passing; and

5 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. enjoyed dancing, spending time | ||||||
6 | with his family and friends, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches | ||||||
7 | and dinner rolls, and watching the Chicago White Sox and the | ||||||
8 | Chicago Bulls; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
10 | brother, Kenneth; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Harold Neiman, Jr. is survived by his loving wife, | ||||||
12 | Fabienne; his parents, Harold, Sr. and Pauline; his sister, | ||||||
13 | Flavin; his brother, David; his stepsons, Wendell (Nicole) Fair | ||||||
14 | and Christopher Rouffa; his grandchildren, Wayne, Wade, | ||||||
15 | Whitley, and Haley Fair and Nicholas Clay; his uncle and aunt, | ||||||
16 | Austin and June Johnson; and his many cousins, brothers and | ||||||
17 | sisters in Christ, and friends; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
20 | his family and friends, the passing of Harold Roger Neiman, | ||||||
21 | Jr.; and be it further
