| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Marvin Oak of Taylor Ridge, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on September 15, 2022; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marvin Oak was born to Kenneth and Laura | ||||||
| 6 | (Mueller) Oak on the family farm in Taylor Ridge on July 28, | ||||||
| 7 | 1929; he graduated from Reynolds High School and joined the | ||||||
| 8 | U.S. Army during the Korean War; after returning from service, | ||||||
| 9 | he married June Westphal at Edgington Presbyterian Church on | ||||||
| 10 | September 23, 1956; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Marvin Oak farmed in the Taylor Ridge area his | ||||||
| 12 | entire adult life; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Marvin Oak enjoyed gardening and had a love of | ||||||
| 14 | making wine, which earned him several awards at the Rock | ||||||
| 15 | Island County Fair; he also loved to hunt morel mushrooms, | ||||||
| 16 | especially the big yellows; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Marvin Oak was preceded in death by his wife; his | ||||||
| 18 | parents, Kenneth and Laura; his son, Gregory A. Oak; and his | ||||||
| 19 | sister, Eloise Stuart; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Marvin Oak is survived by his son, David Oak; his | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | brother, Marion (Dorothy) Oak; and his nieces and nephews, | ||||||
| 2 | Naomi (Randy) Duvendack, Becky (Dennis) Keithley, Joel (Jill) | ||||||
| 3 | Stuart, Kevin (Cindy) Oak, and Sheri (Anders) Holgersson; | ||||||
| 4 | therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 7 | Marvin Oak and extend our sincere
condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 8 | friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
