SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas "Tom" Edward Webb Jr. of
4Silvis, who passed away on November 4, 2022; and
5 WHEREAS, Tom Webb was born to Thomas Edward and Mattie May
6(Jones) Webb Sr. in Montgomery, Alabama on January 20, 1934;
7he attended woodworking and welding schools; he served in the
8U.S. Navy; he married Ruth Ellen Cox in East Moline on February
94, 1966; and
10 WHEREAS, Tom Webb worked for the Rock Island Railroad for
1121 years; he then worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring
12after 18 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Tom Webb was a former member of the Robinsonville
14Baptist Church and a member of the United Transportation
15Union, formerly the Switchman's Union; he was also a member of
16Masonic Lodge 898 and was a 32nd Degree Mason; and
17 WHEREAS, Tom Webb was preceded in death by his wife and his
18two sisters; and
19 WHEREAS, Tom Webb is survived by his daughters, Brenda
20(Randy) Hawley and Renae (Wade) Harroun; his grandchildren,

1Jason Haggard, Michael Hendricks, Rachael Frizzell, Ashley
2(John) Bell, Levi Harroun, and Sarah Harroun; his ten
3great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edna Davis; therefore, be

5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Thomas "Tom" Edward Webb Jr. and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Tom Webb as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
