SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of David Lee Griffin of Milan, who passed
away on November 2, 2022; and
WHEREAS, David Griffin was born to Elmer and Connie
(Miles) Griffin in Moline on December 26, 1946; he served in
the U.S. Army; he married Rita Hill in Milan on March 16, 1974;
and
WHEREAS, David Griffin was a logistics analyst at the Rock
Island Arsenal; he later worked as a consultant for Hancock
Management, retiring in 2011; and
WHEREAS, David Griffin was a past president and 40 year
member of the Milan Lions Club, through which he was a Melvin
Jones Fellow; and
WHEREAS, David Griffin enjoyed hunting, fishing, road
trips, and the Chicago Bears; and
WHEREAS, David Griffin was preceded in death by his
parents and his brother, Ronald Griffin; and
WHEREAS, David Griffin is survived by his wife, Rita; his

children, Sherry Reynolds, Brett (Abby) Griffin, and Kara
Griffin; and his grandchildren, Lexy, Jack, Jon, Emmett, and
Van; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
David Lee Griffin and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of David Griffin as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
