2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Alan "Jack" Diamond of Waukegan, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 16, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was born to Nathan and Ernestine | ||||||
6 | (Choyke) Diamond in Chicago in 1936; he graduated from Waukegan | ||||||
7 | High School and later served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958; | ||||||
8 | he was honorably discharged after a tour of duty in Europe; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond began his career with the Lake County | ||||||
10 | Highway Department; he then served as a Deputy Sheriff for the | ||||||
11 | Lake County Sheriff's Office and later held administrative | ||||||
12 | positions with the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois | ||||||
13 | State Toll Highway Authority; he retired as the Facility | ||||||
14 | Director at the Ann Kiley Center in Waukegan; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was a proud member of several | ||||||
16 | organizations, including the Medinah Shrine (Lake County | ||||||
17 | Shrine), the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of IL (Waukegan and | ||||||
18 | Milburn Lodges), the A.A.S.R. Northern Masonic Jurisdiction | ||||||
19 | Valley of Chicago, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal | ||||||
20 | Order of Moose, the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, the | ||||||
21 | Illinois Police Association, and the Police Association of Cape | ||||||
22 | Coral, Florida; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond loved boating, fishing, cruising the | ||||||
2 | Caribbean with family, and riding his Harley; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
4 | his brother, Bruce Diamond; and his ex-sister-in-law, Esterle | ||||||
5 | (Goldberg) Coburn; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jack Diamond is survived by his loving wife of 54 | ||||||
7 | years, Ronelle M. (Gannon) Diamond; his daughter, Kimberly | ||||||
8 | Smith (Perry S. Smith, Jr); his grandchild, Jordan A. Smith; | ||||||
9 | his nephew, Paul Diamond; his niece, Sandee (Diamond) Hunt; and | ||||||
10 | his cousins, Dick, Bill, and Jim Choyke; therefore, be it
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
13 | Alan "Jack" Diamond and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
14 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
15 | further
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
17 | presented to the family of Jack Diamond as an expression of
our | ||||||
18 | deepest sympathy.
