SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alan "Jack" Diamond of Waukegan, who
4passed away on May 16, 2020; and
5 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was born to Nathan and Ernestine
6(Choyke) Diamond in Chicago in 1936; he graduated from Waukegan
7High School and later served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958;
8he was honorably discharged after a tour of duty in Europe; and
9 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond began his career with the Lake County
10Highway Department; he then served as a Deputy Sheriff for the
11Lake County Sheriff's Office and later held administrative
12positions with the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois
13State Toll Highway Authority; he retired as the Facility
14Director at the Ann Kiley Center in Waukegan; and
15 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was a proud member of several
16organizations, including the Medinah Shrine (Lake County
17Shrine), the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of IL (Waukegan and
18Milburn Lodges), the A.A.S.R. Northern Masonic Jurisdiction
19Valley of Chicago, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal
20Order of Moose, the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, the
21Illinois Police Association, and the Police Association of Cape
22Coral, Florida; and

1 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond loved boating, fishing, cruising the
2Caribbean with family, and riding his Harley; and
3 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond was preceded in death by his parents;
4his brother, Bruce Diamond; and his ex-sister-in-law, Esterle
5(Goldberg) Coburn; and
6 WHEREAS, Jack Diamond is survived by his loving wife of 54
7years, Ronelle M. (Gannon) Diamond; his daughter, Kimberly
8Smith (Perry S. Smith, Jr); his grandchild, Jordan A. Smith;
9his nephew, Paul Diamond; his niece, Sandee (Diamond) Hunt; and
10his cousins, Dick, Bill, and Jim Choyke; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Alan "Jack" Diamond and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jack Diamond as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
