1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Del W. Felger of Moline, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on December 12, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Del Felger was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to | ||||||
6 | Delbert A. and Elna Murphy Felger on December 14, 1936; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Norfolk High School in 1955, where he was | ||||||
8 | captain of the basketball team; he married Janice Ehrichs in | ||||||
9 | Norfolk on October 3, 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy from | ||||||
10 | 1956 to 1960; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Del Felger worked as an electrician at the Rock | ||||||
12 | Island Lines and later at International Harvester Case IH for | ||||||
13 | 25 years; he retired in September of 1993; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Del Felger had a passion for basketball and other | ||||||
15 | sports; he was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football | ||||||
16 | team; he was a skilled handyman and enjoyed trips home to | ||||||
17 | Norfolk, boating with friends, time outdoors, cats, and drives | ||||||
18 | through the country with Jan; and

19 | WHEREAS, Del Felger was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
20 | and

1 | WHEREAS, Del Felger is survived by his wife of 62 years, | ||||||
2 | Jan, and his children, Donald (Theresa) Felger, Gordie Felger | ||||||
3 | (Kristen Aller), and Vickie Felger (Eric Brown); therefore, be | ||||||
4 | it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Del W. Felger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
8 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Del Felger as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
