SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Clovis L. Armstrong of Moline, who passed
away on November 28, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Clovis Armstrong was born in Eldridge, Alabama to
Ira and Elsie (Tucker) Armstrong on April 12, 1931; he served
his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and married
Brenda Newton in Glasgow, Scotland on October 13, 1954; and
WHEREAS, Clovis Armstrong worked for Fuller Printing,
retiring in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Clovis Armstrong was preceded in death by his
parents; his brother, Clois; his daughter, Sandy; and his
great-grandson, Jescie; and
WHEREAS, Clovis Armstrong is survived by his wife of 64
years, Brenda; his children, Phillip L. (Debbie) Armstrong,
Michael W. Armstrong, Carol (William) Stillwell, and Debbi
Snyder; his brother, Clelland Armstrong; nine grandchildren;
and many great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

Clovis L. Armstrong and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Clovis Armstrong as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
