Bill Title: Veterans' preference for firefighter hiring. Establishes the veterans' preference for firefighter hiring pilot program (program). Encourages the hiring of certain veterans for an entry level firefighter position by allowing a local unit to apply for a grant when a qualifying veteran is hired. Limits program eligibility to local units that hire at an entry level firefighter position a veteran who: (1) has served not less than three consecutive years of service in the United States Army, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Coast Guard, or the Indiana National Guard;
