    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 36-8-10.5-10; (11)HB1393.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 36-8-10.5-10 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE]: Sec. 10. (a) This section applies to the following certifications:
        (1) Mandatory training (as described in 655 IAC 1-4-2).
        (2) Basic firefighter (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-3).
        (3) Firefighter I (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-4).
        (4) Firefighter II (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-5).
    (b) The education board may:
        (1) require a candidate for certification to complete the written test for certification using a computer or the Internet or another online arrangement; and
        (2) prohibit a candidate for certification from completing the written test for certification on a paper form;
only if the education board requires at least one (1) location in each county in which a candidate for certification may complete or provide a written test for certification in the manner set forth in

subdivision (1).
