Synopsis: Firefighter certification test sites. Allows the board of
firefighting personnel standards and education to require a candidate
for mandatory, basic, firefighter I, or firefighter II certification to take
the certification test by computer instead of taking the test on paper, if
the board requires at least one computer testing location in each county.
Effective: Upon passage.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning local
government.
(1) Mandatory training (as described in 655 IAC 1-4-2).
(2) Basic firefighter (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-3).
(3) Firefighter I (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-4).
(4) Firefighter II (as described in 655 IAC 1-2.1-5).
(b) The education board may:
(1) require a candidate for certification to complete the written test for certification using a computer or the Internet or another online arrangement; and
(2) prohibit a candidate for certification from completing the written test for certification on a paper form;
only if the education board requires at least one (1) location in each county in which a candidate for certification may complete or provide a written test for certification in the manner set forth in
subdivision (1).
