A RESOLUTION recognizing Tabernacle Christian
School's boys basketball team.
Whereas, The Tabernacle Christian School, Martinsville,
boys basketball team is the 2011 Indiana Association of
Christian Schools state champion;
Whereas, The top-seeded Eagles won the state title by
defeating Colonial Christian School, Indianapolis, 64-50 in the
final of the state tournament held in Anderson;
Whereas, While seniors Andrew Pearce and Wade Napier combined to average about half of the team's points in the regular season, it was sophomore Brian Payne who was the star from the three-point line, scoring 10 points;
Whereas, Andrew Pearce and Wade Napier were named to the first team All Tournament Team, and Brian Payne was named to the second team;
Whereas, Tabernacle Christian dominated the game,
scoring 31 points before missing a shot, eventually taking a
35-18 lead into the second quarter;
Whereas, Tabernacle Christian School finished the season
with an outstanding 23-8 record; and
Whereas, Excellence in any endeavor and determination to
reach a specific goal deserve special recognition: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates the Tabernacle Christian School's boys basketball team on winning the 2011 state championship in the Indiana Association of Christian Schools state tournament and wishes its players continued success in all their future endeavors.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to all team members, the team manager, head coach Kenny Roll, and assistant coaches Jeff Napier, Mark Wooley, and Allen Tay.
