Synopsis: Funds for adoption subsidies. Requires the department of
child services (department) to use certain funds that become available
as a result of a child with special needs becoming eligible to receive
federal adoption assistance under the Fostering Connections to Success
and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 to make adoption subsidy
payments for the benefit of a child with special needs under the state
adoption subsidy program. Provides that the department is not required
to use the funds to make adoption subsidy payments for the benefit of
a child with special needs if there is no child with special needs eligible
for an adoption subsidy under the state adoption subsidy program.
Effective: July 1, 2011.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
family law and juvenile law.
(1) that have been appropriated, allocated, contributed, or paid to the adoption assistance account for the purposes of making adoption subsidy payments under this chapter for the benefit of a child with special needs; and
(2) that become available for use by the department as a result of the child with special needs becoming eligible to receive federal adoption assistance under the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 (P.L. 110-351);
to make adoption subsidy payments under this chapter for the benefit of a child with special needs.
(b) The department is not required to use the funds described in
subsection (a) to make adoption subsidy payments under this
chapter for the benefit of a child with special needs if there is no
child with special needs eligible for an adoption subsidy under this
chapter.
(c) This section expires January 1, 2020.
