Summary

Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to require health benefit plans to provide coverage for coronary calcium imaging testing; provide that coronary calcium imaging testing shall not be considered investigational or experimental; amend KRS 205.522 to require Medicaid to comply with the coronary calcium imaging testing requirements and make technical amendments; provide that provisions apply to health benefit plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2025; require the Department of Insurance seek a waiver of cost defrayment requirements; the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to seek federal approval, if necessary; EFFECTIVE, in part, January 1, 2025.
