An Act concerning the conversion of private ways to public ways.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section thirty-one of chapter eighty-one of the General Laws is hereby
amended by inserting the following at the conclusion of the first sentence of
subsection (a) thereof, after the words “in such city or town” the following:—
“,as that term is defined below, plus, in any city which has adopted an
official map under chapter forty-one, section eighty-one E of the General Laws,
the total mileage, to the nearest one hundredth of a mile, of private ways
shown on such official map, so long as the additional amount generated by the
inclusion of said mileage shall be expended by any such city solely for the
purpose of converting such private ways to public streets.”
