A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
by amending section 322 (MCL 168.322), as amended by 2012 PA 276.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
322. Until December 31, 2013, for the name of a candidate
for
a city office, including a ward office, to appear on the
official
February primary election ballots for use in the city, a
nominating
petition shall be filed with the city clerk not later
than
4 p.m. on the twelfth Tuesday before the February primary.
Beginning
January 1, 2014, for the name of a candidate for a city
office,
including a ward office, to appear on the official February
primary
election ballots for use in the city, a nominating petition
shall
be filed with the city clerk not later than 4 p.m. on the
fifteenth
Tuesday before the February primary. Until December 31,
2013,
if a charter provides for nomination by caucus or by filing a
petition
or affidavit directly for the May election, the candidate
filing
deadline or certification deadline shall be 4 p.m. on the
twelfth
Tuesday before the May election. Beginning January 1, 2014,
if

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless all of the following bills of the 98th Legislature are
enacted into law:
(a) House Bill No. 4271.
(b) House Bill No. 4272.
(c) House Bill No. 4273.
(d) House Bill No. 4274.
(e) House Bill No. 4276.
