HOUSE BILL NO. 4874
A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 33a.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 33a. (1) Subject to subsection (2), not later than July 1 of each odd numbered year, the secretary of state shall post on the department of state website the name of each county, city, and township clerk who is not current with the clerk's continuing election education training as required under section 33. The secretary of state shall immediately remove the name of a county, city, or township clerk whose name is posted on the department of state website as required under this subsection when that county, city, or township clerk provides satisfactory evidence to the secretary of state that the clerk is current with the clerk's continuing election education training as required under section 33.
(2) Not later than June 1 of each odd numbered year, the secretary of state shall send notice by mail or email to each county, city, and township clerk who is not current with the clerk's continuing election education training as required under section 33. If a county, city, or township clerk who is sent notice under this subsection provides satisfactory evidence to the secretary of state before July 1 of that year that the clerk is current with the clerk's continuing election education training as required under section 33, the secretary of state shall not post the name of that county, city, or township clerk on the department of state website as provided in subsection (1).
