SUBSTITUTE FOR

 

HOUSE BILL NO. 5035

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1966 PA 331, entitled

 

"Community college act of 1966,"

 

(MCL 389.1 to 389.195) by adding section 123a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 123a. The board of trustees shall ensure that the

 

community college include in its admission application process a

 

specific question as to whether an applicant for admission is

 

currently serving or has ever served as a member of the military,

 

the national guard, or the military reserves, or is the spouse or

 

dependent of an individual who is currently serving or has ever

 

served as a member of the military, the national guard, or the

 

military reserves, in order to more quickly identify potential

 

educational assistance available to that applicant.

 


     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
