HOUSE BILL No. 5165

December 16, 2015, Introduced by Reps. Moss and Chatfield and referred to the Committee on Local Government.

 

     A bill to amend 1895 PA 107, entitled

 

"An act to provide for recording in the offices of registers of

deeds certified copies of judgments and decrees of courts of record

and making the record thereof evidence in courts, and making such

records heretofore made like evidence,"

 

by amending section 2 (MCL 565.412).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 2. Every A register of deeds shall be is entitled to the

 

same fee for recording such a certified copy under section 1 as by

 

law he may receive the fee for recording conveyances: Provided,

 

That in counties where a real estate mortgage under section 2567 of

 

the revised judicature act of 1961, 1961 PA 236, MCL 600.2567. If

 

the register of deeds receives an annual salary from the county, he

 

or she shall turn over all such fees collected under this section

 

to the county treasurer.
