HOUSE BILL No. 5388

 

March 4, 2014, Introduced by Reps. Lane, Forlini, Haugh and Nathan and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

     A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled

 

"Revised judicature act of 1961,"

 

(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 5746.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 5746. A sheriff or other officer may personally serve a

 

money judgment entered against a defendant under section 5739 at

 

the same time that the sheriff or officer serves process under

 

section 5744. If a money judgment is served as provided in this

 

section, no other service of the money judgment is necessary. This

 

section does not require a money judgment to be personally served.
