     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 18a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 18a. As used in this act, "United States Department of

 

Defense verified electronic signature" means the certificate-based

 

digital identification code issued to qualified personnel by the

 

United States Department of Defense as part of the Common Access

 

Card, or its successor.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 117 of the 100th Legislature is enacted into

 

law.
