A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled
"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"
by amending section 60108 (MCL 324.60108), as amended by 2011 PA
167.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 60108. (1) The Michigan geological survey may receive
money or other assets to implement this part from any of the
following:
(a) Funds appropriated by the legislature.
(b) Federal, state, municipal, or private grants.
(c) Any other source approved by the governing institution.
(2) The legislature shall annually appropriate $3,000,000.00
to the Michigan geological survey to carry out responsibilities
under section 60104 and, in particular, to conduct geological
surveys of the following:
(a) Perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl substance contamination
of soils or groundwater.
(b) Groundwater in areas for which the department of
environmental quality has a priority need for geological
groundwater data.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
