SENATE BILL No. 846

 

 

February 27, 2018, Introduced by Senator HUNE and referred to the Committee on Insurance.

 

 

     A bill to amend 1980 PA 350, entitled

 

"The nonprofit health care corporation reform act,"

 

by amending section 654 (MCL 550.1654), as added by 2013 PA 4.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 654. (1) A board shall appoint an executive director to

 

serve as the chief executive officer of the fund. The executive

 

director shall serve at the pleasure of the board. The executive

 

director may employ staff and hire consultants as necessary with

 

the approval of the board. The board shall determine compensation

 

for the executive director and staff employed under this subsection

 

and shall approve contracts under this subsection. The compensation

 

for the executive director must not exceed the compensation set for

 

the senate majority leader or the speaker of the house of

 

representatives, whichever is less, as determined by the state

 

officers compensation commission.

     (2) The executive director shall display on the fund internet

 

website information relevant to the public, as defined by the

 

board, concerning the fund's operations and efficiencies, as well

 

as the board's assessments of those activities.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
