SENATE BILL NO. 1006
A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 21525.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 21525. A hospital that operates a maternity unit shall ensure that an individual who is giving birth in the hospital has the option, if not medically contraindicated, of having an intrauterine device implanted after delivery and before the individual is discharged. A hospital shall ensure that a sufficient number of intrauterine devices are in stock and available at the hospital to meet the requirements of this section.
