1.2relating to human services; releasing a medical assistance lien on property in
1.3St. Louis County.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. RELEASE OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE LIEN.
1.6Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 514.981, the commissioner of human
1.7services shall release and discharge the medical assistance lien in full, pursuant to
1.8Minnesota Statutes, section 514.981, subdivision 5, for any person who:
1.9(1) purchased a home in St. Louis County that was subject to a medical assistance
1.10lien;
1.11(2) hired Scenic Title and Abstract, Inc. in Duluth to handle the closing on the home;
1.12(3) satisfied the purchase price of the home by securing a mortgage; and
1.13(4) obtained a warranty deed for the home that was signed and notarized on
1.14December 3, 2007, and recorded in St. Louis County on December 28, 2007.
