1.2relating to public safety; authorizing county attorneys and assistant county
1.3attorneys to carry firearms on duty under the terms of a permit to carry;amending
1.4Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 388.051, by adding a subdivision.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 388.051, is amended by adding a
1.7subdivision to read:
1.8 Subd. 4. Firearms exemption. Notwithstanding section 626.84, subdivision 2, a
1.9county attorney, or an assistant county attorney appointed under section 388.10, who
1.10lawfully possesses a permit to carry a pistol issued in accordance with section 624.714
1.11may possess and carry a firearm while on duty, unless restricted by the county attorney.
1.12EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
