1.2relating to alcohol; allowing certain persons under the age of 21 to drink alcohol
1.3under certain conditions;proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
1.4chapter 340A.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. [340A.5035] PERSONS UNDER 21; SPECIAL EXEMPTION.
1.7Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 340A.503, 340A.701, and 340A.702, or
1.8any other provision of law, persons less than 21 years of age who are accompanied by
1.9a parent, legal guardian, or spouse of legal drinking age, may purchase, possess, and
1.10consume alcohol within the premises of the holder of an on-sale intoxicating liquor
1.11license or a holder of an on-sale 3.2 malt liquor license. No penalties shall be applied to
1.12consumption of alcohol allowed in this section. All other provisions of this chapter and all
1.13penalties for other illegal behaviors noted within this chapter apply to behavior allowed
1.14under this section.
