1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to highway construction; requiring a special slurry disposal provision
1.3in certain highway construction, improvement, or repair contracts;proposing
1.4coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 161.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. [161.367] CONCRETE DIAMOND GRINDING AND SAW SLURRY.
1.7In any contract that includes concrete diamond grinding or concrete sawing
1.8associated with the construction, improvement, or repair of a road, the commissioner
1.9of transportation shall include a special provision relating to resulting concrete slurry.
1.10The special provision must include language requiring removal of slurry by vacuuming;
1.11requiring deposit of slurry along the in-slope of the roadway for diamond grinding;
1.12prohibiting the contractor from allowing slurry to flow across lanes of traffic or into gutters
1.13or other closed drainage facilities; and specifying that slurry shall not be placed closer
1.14than 100 feet from natural streams and lakes, or three feet from water-filled ditches.
