1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 124D.165, subdivision 5,
1.7is amended to read:
1.8 Subd. 5. Report required. The commissioner shall contract with an independent
1.9contractor to evaluate the early learning scholarship program. The evaluation must
1.10include recommendations regarding the appropriate scholarship amount, efficiency, and
1.11effectiveness of the administration, and impact on kindergarten readiness. By January
1.1215, 2016, the commissioner shall submit a written copy of the evaluation to the chairs
1.13and ranking minority members of the legislative committees and divisions with primary
1.14jurisdiction over kindergarten through grade 12 education.
