1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING; PRINCETON.
1.6 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $3,301,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.7fund to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to the city of Princeton to acquire
1.8land, predesign, design, construct, and equip a public safety building to be located in
1.9Princeton for use as a headquarters for police, fire, and emergency operations and as a
1.10relocation and decontamination site in the event of an accident at the Monticello Nuclear
1.11Power Plant. This appropriation is not available until the commissioner determines that at
1.12least an equal amount is committed to the project from nonstate sources.
1.13 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the
1.14bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.15bonds of the state in an amount up to $3,301,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.16the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.17Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
