1.2relating to education; requiring financial report from teacher's union;proposing
1.3coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 179A.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [179A.26] EXCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION; TRANSPARENCY.
1.6By June 30 of each year, the exclusive representative, if any, of a unit that consists
1.7of teachers in a school district or another public education setting, shall provide a
1.8detailed itemized financial report to each member of the unit that must at least include:
1.9the dollar amounts of total member dues paid; campaign expenditures of the exclusive
1.10representative, whether attributable to national, state, or local elections; salary and benefits
1.11per employee and the names of employees of the exclusive representative; and negotiation
1.12costs and teacher legal representation costs of the exclusive representative.
