1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to human services; appropriating money for compulsive gambling.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.4    Section 1. PROBLEM GAMBLING APPROPRIATION.
1.5$225,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $225,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from
1.6the lottery prize fund to the Gambling Control Board for a grant to the state affiliate
1.7recognized by the National Council on Problem Gambling. The affiliate must provide
1.8services to increase public awareness of problem gambling, education and training
1.9for individuals and organizations providing treatment services to problem gamblers
1.10and their families, and research relating to problem gambling. These services must be
1.11complimentary to and not duplicative of the services provided through the problem
1.12gambling program administered by the commissioner of human services. These are
1.13onetime appropriations.
