1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the Gallagher-Hansen VFW Post 295 and Ladies' Auxiliary on
1.3the occasion of their 90th anniversary.
1.4WHEREAS, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is the largest organization of American
1.5combat veterans, and along with the Ladies' Auxiliary, it works on behalf of veterans, donating
1.6money and countless hours of community service to support them; and
1.7WHEREAS, annually, VFW and Auxiliaries donate more than 13 million hours of
1.8community service, mentoring youth groups, helping in community food kitchens, volunteering
1.9in blood drives, and visiting hospitalized veterans; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Gallagher-Hansen VFW Post 295 and Ladies' Auxiliary is celebrating
1.11their 90th anniversary, a tremendous milestone deserving of special legislative recognition;
1.12NOW, THEREFORE,
1.13BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it congratulates the
1.14Gallagher-Hansen VFW Post 295 and Ladies' Auxiliary on the occasion of their 90th anniversary,
1.15and extends best wishes to them for the future.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Gallagher-Hansen
1.19VFW Post 295 and Ladies' Auxiliary.
