AN ACT

To amend chapter 441, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to landlord's disclosure of the presence of mold.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 441, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 441.025, to read as follows:

            441.025. A landlord shall provide written notice to a prospective or current tenant of an affected rental unit when such landlord knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, that mold, both visible and invisible or hidden, is present and affects the tenant's premises or unit. Such notice shall be provided to a prospective tenant before the tenant enters into a lease or rental agreement and to a current tenant as soon as possible.
