AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto two new sections relating to mental health awareness designations.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto two new sections, to be known as sections 9.210 and 9.212, to read as follows:

            9.210. The first full week of May each year shall be designated as “Children’s Mental Health Week” in Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in appropriate activities and events to increase awareness of mental health disorders and the importance of mental health to overall well-being.

            9.212. The month of October each year shall be designated as “Mental Health Awareness Month” in Missouri. The first full week of October each year shall be designated as “Bipolar Disorder Awareness Week” in Missouri. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in appropriate activities and events to increase awareness of bipolar disorder and its related symptoms.
