AN ACT

To amend chapter 407, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to electronic signatures.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 407, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 407.1119, to read as follows:

            407.1119. Notwithstanding sections 432.200 to 432.295 or any other provision of law to the contrary, customer service providers in this state shall accept, upon request of customers, documents with electronic signatures in the same manner as documents with written signatures. As used in this section, "customer service providers" shall include, but are not limited to, banks or credit unions. However, "customer service providers" shall not include any governmental agency as defined in section 432.205.
