Summary

An Act To Establish The Mississippi Higher Education Grant Program For Single Mothers For The Purpose Of Providing Financial Assistance To Eligible Applicants To Aid In Offsetting The Cost Of Postsecondary Education; To Require The Postsecondary Education Financial Assistance Board To Administer The Program; To Prescribe The Criteria Used To Determine Eligibility For Grant Recipients; To Limit The Amount Of Annual Grants To Recipients To $1,500.00; To Prescribe The Guidelines To Be Adhered To By Grant Recipients For Continued Eligibility; To Prescribe Penalties For The Willful And Wanton Falsification Of Information To Obtain A Grant Under The Program; To Require All Tanf State Maintenance Of Effort Funds Allocated To State-funded Scholarship Programs To Be Expended Solely For The Mississippi Higher Education Grant Program For Single Mothers; And For Related Purposes.
