Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-13-4, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize Any Teacher Or School Administrator Of A Public School In This State To Open The School Day With A Prayer; To Require That This Observation Shall Be Maintained In Each Grade In Public Schools At The Beginning Of Each School Day; To Provide That It Shall Be The Responsibility Of Each Teacher In Charge Of Each Class To Call The Students To Order And Announce The Time For Prayer Or Moment Of Silence Is To Be Observed; To Prohibit The Teacher From Indicating Or Suggesting To The Students That Any Action Be Taken By Them During This Time, Other Than Maintaining Silence For The Full Time; To Bring Forward Section 37-13-4.1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For Purposes Of Possible Amendments; And For Related Purposes.
