Summary
An Act To Amend Section 37-17-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize The State Board Of Education, Beginning With The 2014-2015 School Year, To Use A Certain Formula For The Hiring Of Certified School Librarians Rather Than Mandating The Formula Be Used; To Revise The Manner By Which Schools That Do Not Administer Statewide Standard Assessments Are Assigned A Grade Designation In The Performance Categories Based On The Accountability Rating System; To Exempt Certain Schools From The Requirement Of Being Assigned A Grade Designation; To Remove The Requirement That The Public Notice Issued For School Districts Placed On Probation For Failure To Meet Accreditation Standards Be Published In A Newspaper Within The Jurisdiction Of Such School District; To Permit The Public Notice Of Such Probationary Period To Be In Electronic Or Print Format; And For Related Purposes.
