Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-17-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The State Board Of Education To Use Only Data From The Immediately Preceding School Year To Assess The Accreditation Rating From The Current School Year; To Require The Office Of The State Auditor To Conduct A Focused Accreditation Assessment And Rating Of Each School And School District In The State Independent Of The State Board Of Education; To Require The State Department Of Education To Submit Any Proposed Changes To The School Accountability Standards And A Statement Of Those Changes' Estimated Economic Impact To The Appropriations And Education Committees Of The House And Senate And To The Executive Director Of The Legislative Budget Office One Year Before Those Standards Become Effective; And For Related Purposes.
