Summary

An Act To Establish A Goal For The State Of Mississippi That By No Later Than The Year 2020, All Residents And Businesses Have Access To Broadband At Certain Specified Download And Upload Speeds; To Require Annual Reports Be Made By The Public Service Commission To The Legislature That Identifies Barriers Impeding The Achievement Of The Goal; To Require The Commission To Appoint A Broadband Advisory Group; To Bring Forward Section 27-65-101, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Relates To Certain Industrial Exemptions From Sales Tax, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; To Bring Forward Sections 57-87-3 Through 57-87-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Relate To The Mississippi Broadband Technology Development Act, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; To Bring Forward Section 77-3-3, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Provide Certain Definitions For The Regulation Of Public Utilities, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
