Summary

An Act To Create New Section 25-11-126, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Persons Who Are Receiving A Retirement Allowance From The Public Employees' Retirement System And Who Were Employed As Public Schoolteachers At The Time Of Their Retirement May Be Employed As Full-time Teachers In Public School Districts And Choose To Continue Receiving The Retirement Allowance During Their Employment As Teachers After Retirement; To Provide That Those Persons Shall Not Be Contributing Members Of The Retirement System And Shall Not Receive Any Creditable Service For The Period During Which They Receive A Retirement Allowance During Their Employment As Teachers; To Provide That Those Persons Shall Receive The Salary Authorized For Teachers With Zero To Three Years Of Teaching Experience With A Class A Certification For The Duration Of Their Employment As Teachers After Retirement; To Provide That Those Persons Shall Not Receive Automatic Credit For Years Of Experience In Determining Compensation And Shall Not Be Entitled To Any Supplements, Salary Increases Or Annual Experience Increments; To Amend Sections 25-11-105, 25-11-127, And 37-19-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
